Living Life by Design, Not Default and the Search for our Next Reincarnation

Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.
— Brene Brown

This week on the show, we talked about how Mimosa Hotline is our passion project and our plans for the future of the show. We want to expand the show beyond just business and becoming more personalities with lives outside of work. Ashley announced she is stepping back from Iconic Details and exploring her next incarnation and her new opportunities in Chicago. We talked in depth about Ashley's career transition and the challenges of having a blank slate of opportunities. And the importance of being real with oneself, not settling, and having the courage to make new choices. We dive into our struggles with feeling overwhelmed and burnt out from being responsible for everything in our lives. We talk about the grief and denial that comes with letting go of certain dreams and visions, and how we are questioning whether those dreams were truly our own or someone else's vision and feelings of being unaligned with our vision and dreams. To lighten things up a little we talked about Pride Month and drag and the authenticity, creativity, and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the importance of surrounding oneself with self-aware people.

“Vulnerability is not winning or losing: It’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.”
